The CFD Expert will work under limited supervision and will be expected to take ownership and drive the CFD projects across Agilent and take Lead as SME for CFD related tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Listen and understand nature of customer request
- Devise plan to meet customer request and receive customer approval
- Create 3D CFD compatible models from provided drawings or CAD files
- Develops CFD analysis of product design whether new and expansionary, incremental, or for product maintenance
- Execute CFD simulations
- Extract quantitative and qualitative results of interest and perform necessary calculations
- Prepare and discuss presentable deliverables (e.g., figures, tables, presentations, written reports) and answer customer queries
- Analyzes computational research work applicable to product performance.
- Perform modelling and analysis as required to optimize performance of new and existing products.
- Ability to implement automation processes for report generation and report standardization.
- Analyzes CFD models and physical test data and assist design centers to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Evaluates performance test results and CFD analysis for possible application to development of systems or other uses.
- Facilitate development of project plans with assistance from Engineering and other departments. Manage all activities within scope of responsibility to meet desired deadlines and outcomes with required quality.
- Be proficient in CAE and CAD tools such as software like Siemens NX, Siemens FloEFD, ANSYS Fluent, CFX, Hypermesh, Star CCM, etc.,
- Should be familiar with drafting standards and practices and apply them to drawing mark-up to show simulation results.
- Performs other work related assignments deemed necessary and appropriate by supervisor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s / Master s (preferable) Degree in Engineering specializing in Fluid Dynamics.
- Minimum of 10 years post graduate experience gained in an industrial and/or research environment undertaking CFD analysis on components/products preferably aligned to the Life science Product Portfolio.
- Understands the various turbulence models and their best use cases.
- Understands the difference between steady-state, Multiple Reference Frame and Transient models and their best use cases.
- Knowledge of various rheology parameters - Newtonian, Pseudoplastic, Yield Stress fluids.
- Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts and operations to develop and check design validity.
- Understands various concepts of multi-physics (gas-liquid interaction, particles, Thermal coupling, fluid/structure interaction
- Familiar with industry specifications aligned to AGILENT product portfolio and end markets, with the ability to interpret and apply as required (e.g.,ISO, ASME, etc.).
- Must be experienced in computational fluid dynamic simulation software and CFD techniques, including modeling and mesh generation, have experience in validation of simulation with measurements and data post processing, system level hydraulics, heat transfer and thermal simulations and fluid dynamics.
- Familiar with FloEFD & ANSYS (CFX & Fluent), understanding differences between and sensitivity between CAD and CFD models.
- Understand and apply multi-objective optimization design (MOD) techniques using the capabilities available in ANSYS DesignXplorer/Heeds
- Design and operational knowledge of industrial products across AGILENT product portfolio.
- Ability to demonstrate attention to detail, problem solving and analytical skills,
- Shall have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, a self-starter, have a sense of urgency, be personable and well organized.
- Must be able to perform the principle duties and responsibilities of the position and be able to work responsibly without close supervision individually or in team environment.
