Exceptional relevant domain knowledge of at least two of the following - Middleware, Web Infrastructure, Database and ETL & Replication tools.

Already an existing exceptional senior technology manager with an extreme focus on providing great customer service.

Attention to detail with a structured, agile, solution-orientated approach to problems.

Ability to lead strategic thinking and to communicate effectively, both formally & informally.

Self-starter, team-player, and requiring minimum oversight and guidance. A Can Do attitude with high levels of resilience in high pressure situations.

Excellent communication/ presentation skills to present to/ liaise with all levels of stakeholders.

Extensive knowledge of linked domains e.g. Operating Systems, Application Servers, Middleware, Storage and Backup technologies.

Good academic record and ability to display external focus and thorough knowledge of the industry and competition.

Experience of leading geographically & culturally diverse teams.

Strong customer awareness and business focus

Role purpose

The Associate Director of Databases & Middleware is responsible for the service, technical and people management of the AIS Database and Middleware Infrastructure teams in India. The successful candidate will have a joint responsibility for operational service, project delivery and engineering for key Database and Middleware technologies. This includes Websphere Application Server, JBoss, WebLogic, HIS, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, GoldenGate Replication and Informatica.

Your key accountabilities

Line management of the AIS Middleware, Web Infrastructure and Database teams in India

Ownership of service delivery for Middleware & Web Infrastructure platforms

Joint ownership of service delivery for Database platforms

To ensure 24x7 operation and services of supported technologies are maintained

To represent the team during any high impact incidents and through the problem review process

To enable effective communication to management

To provide technical leadership and mentoring to local Middleware and Database team managers and members

To interface with Technology Information Service, Delivery and Business teams to optimise service availability and reliability

Actively manage and own the programme plans and resolve issues in liaison with the appropriate accountable executive. Building strong relationships and be seen as a trusted advisor to the accountable executives

Actively promote a culture of continuous improvement across all delivery disciplines to improve overall delivery through their own behaviour and promotion of appropriate tools and techniques

To understand and manage capacity in order to guarantee the Delivery projects pipeline

High level project reporting to the relevant governance forums including progress against milestones, budget, risks and issues.

Maintain and execute the service continuity plan.

To provide consultancy where best practice guidelines on infrastructure and process are required.

Ensuring cross-departmental and company interaction.

Develop and maintain a good working relationship with senior leadership .
