- The Informatica Administrator manages all Informatica Power Center and MDM environments, including but not limited to configurations, user access, MDM HUB, ActiveVos BPM suite, Hierarchy Manager, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, patching, administration, performance tuning, upgrading of Informatica Power Center and MDM environments. The Informatica Administrator will define, develop and document standardized monitoring procedures for data integration processes and applies necessary configuration changes. This role is responsible for reliability and performance of the Informatica Power Center and MDM software.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Installs and configures the Informatica Power Center and MDM, and ActiveVos BPM suite.
- Installs and configures the Redhat Jboss EAP application server for Power Center and MDM.
- Coordinates, plans and executes activities related to platform maintenance, disaster recovery and software release management.
- Configures Informatica components and assists infrastructure team on installation, upgrades and hotfix patches. Performs capacity and stability monitoring.
- Assists with application health and server metrics collection and reporting.
- Assists with integration of Power Center and MDM real-time call with Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Web services.
- Assists with integrations of MDM with PowerCenter and Oracle databases.
- Configures Power Center and MDM High Availability multi-nodes architecture, failover and recovery functionality.
- Configures user authentication with LDAP integration of Power Center and MDM application using Active Directory.
- Configures Application load balancing (URLs).
- Conducts performance tuning on Power Center and MDM application servers and configurations for optimal performance.
- Raises tickets with Informatica vendor for software product or functionality issues.
- Assists with Power Center and MDM code migrations and cutovers during releases and go-lives.
- Contributes to definition, review, documentation and communication of standards and best practices.
- On a daily basis, creates user accounts, ETL integrations/implementations/migrations, schedules and monitors jobs, performs root cause analysis for job failures and missed data loads, and provides server and database administrators with support for performance tuning.
- Hands on experience with PowerCenter v9.x/v10x software administration.
- Experience and knowledge on AWS Cloud essential and infrastructure concepts.
- Experience with administration of Informatica IDE/IDQ toolset.
- Experience with installation Informatica Power Center and MDM software in an AWS and Linux environment.
- Proven performance tuning, troubleshooting and issues resolution skills.
- Ability to analyze and communicate root cause and resolution steps.
- Familiarity with Informatica Best Practices.
- Working knowledge of the Informatica software security model and adaptability.
- Working knowledge of AD authentication models and LDAP integration to Informatica MDM v10.x and PowerCenter v10.x.
- Firm understanding of ETL basic concepts of data flow, data enrichment, data consolidation, change data capture and transformation.
- Strong proficiency in SQL programming, query writing, query performance tuning, and database technologies.
- Ability to maintain a detail-oriented approach while multitasking in a fast paced environment.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedures manuals.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years experience with product implementation and administration of ETL with concentration on the Informatica suite of products (MDM/IDQ/PWC).
- 4+ years’ experience working with data warehousing, ETL development and ETL architecture.
- 4+ years’ experience combined experience with any of the following database technologies (RDBMS: MSSQL, MySQL Oracle; NoSQL: MarkLogic, DynamoDB, Redis).
- 5 years’ experience working on large data initiatives (?5 terabytes).
- 5 years’ experience as an Informatica Administrator
- AWS: 2 years (Required)
- DevOps Practices: 1 year (Required)
- Ability to prioritize and resolve multiple complex/critical issues and provide performance and tuning solutions to development teams.
- Assist in determining the impact of operational issues and provide input into their resolution via data extraction and quantification.
- Middleware: 3 years (Optional)
- Ability to conduct root cause analysis and performance tuning for complex business processes and functionality
- Ability to interact with IT and business users across the organization to resolve issues and provide solutions in a timely manner
- Experience in creating presentation on installation and upgrade, publish technical documentation, run books and environment release guides.
- Experience in Production level support for onshore and offshore teams during their development life cycle (Required).
- Experience working with job scheduler and monitoring tools.
- Innovative and creative person who has developed new approaches to developing infrastructure solutions.
- Knowledge of Middleware packages (WebSphere, WebLogic, WebMethods or Tibco, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge on Informatica OS Profiling and Informatica cloud (IICS)
- Knowledge on Native and LDAP authentications w.r.t users, groups management, and providing required privileges on the Domain/Repository/Folder level.
- Knowledge on UNIX Shell Scripting.
