JOB DETAIL

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • To assist and coordinate functions related to civil/mechanical/electrical/water supply/sewage.
  • Responsible for liaison with the government agencies such as State electricity Board / Pollution Control Board /Water Supply/GHMC and other Department related to maintenance activity.
  • Responsible for overall maintenance functions.
  • Monitor departmental activities.
  • Ensure proper implementation of SOPs.
  • Responsible for active participation in training programs.
  • Responsible for coordination of developmental projects.
  • Ensuring proper take over and handing over.
  • Responsible for close supervision.
  • Responsible for proper maintenance work undertaken.

Responsible for handling issues and report the same to the management.

  • Responsible for the coordination of all maintenance activities pertaining to MEP, civil work, carpentry, and general maintenance for all properties listed under the Engineering department, i.e - IP Units and OP Units.
  • Technical functionality, advice and guidance towards the implementation and execution of all AMCs for all equipment commissioned and operating at the Engineering department. To work in coordination with the purchase dept and the vendor/ company involved in the AMC. To assist in all AMC renewals pertaining to the department.
  • Personal involvement and supervision in the procurement and installation of all new equipment.
  • To be responsible for issuing and authorization of all Indents and requisitions with proper justification and documentation in place.
  • Manpower planning and management. To ensure optimization and high standards of qualitative delivery of work and completion of tasks.
  • Precision in ensuring that all scheduled work is completed on time.
  • Ensuring daily, weekly & monthly inspections are carried out in all areas and duly reported. Technical issues and repair work to be picked up before it reaches the level of a complaint placed. As and when complaints are received, they should be attended to immediately and closed within a specified TAT.
  • Monthly reports and all other scheduled reports to be duly submitted to the Reporting Manager and to other departments in relevance to the same.
  • To ensure that the departmental staff remain motivated, disciplined, and well-groomed at all times.
  • To hold training programmes and other activities to elevate the skills and technical knowledge of all maintenance staff.
  • Constant focus on always maintaining the highest levels of safety standards. No compromise to be made on the safety gear issued and to ensure that all staff utilize the same while carrying out any maintenance activities.
  • Checking and validating all maintenance periodic bills received for electricity, water, gas, building maintenance contract bills etc...
  • Prioritization and execution of work based on the criticality of the job involved.
  • Coordinating and working along with other departments for the smooth functioning of the Engineering Department - technical wing.
  • Liaison with the concerned authorities related to the Electricity dept, Water works dept, Fire dept etc... for obvious reasons during breakdowns, critical times and for the normal functioning of all properties.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and accountability of all maintenance store items, supplies, tools and engineering equipment.
  • To assist and also lead all types of renovations and refurbishment activities.
  • Budgeting, costing, and financial planning towards the overall functioning of the dept. All due reports to be submitted on time and regular approvals to be taken from the Reporting Manager.
  • To ensure pest control is scheduled and done on time and also safeguarding protocols for all machinery and equipment.
  • To ensure all SOP's, KOP's, protocols and all guidelines are developed, implemented and strictly followed. Periodic training and assessment for the same to be ensured.
  • Manpower planning and staff training to ensure all standards are followed.
  • Justification and documentation of unplanned costs and expenses borne other than what was budgeted. Due approvals to be taken as per protocol and policies.
  • Implementation and proper control on Asset Management, policies to be established and managed on the procurement, movements, discarding and accountability of all assets being held by the Engineering Department.
  • Energy audits and to ensure that all green building standards are implemented and followed. Focus to be vital on energy conservation and best environmental practices. Implementation of strategies and methods for optimum cost saving.
  • To ensure methods adapted to reuse/ recycle material before it is permanently scraped.

General Services:

  • Fire training instructor for FF, to conduct periodic classes for Firefighting and safety standards.
  • To assist the Head of Maintenance - Clinical, as and when needed for energy audits, asset management and technical training.

To be acquainted and well versed with operations of all units and to assist as and when assigned to do so.

 

Desired Candidate Profile

 

 

  • BE/BTech with Electrical Engineering as core subject with 10+ years of experience or Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 15 years of experience.
  • Holding a valid 11 KVA License.
  • Should have worked as Maintenance/ Facilities/ Estates Head for a minimum of 5+ years.
  • Thorough knowledge of working on computers (word, excel, ppt etc.)
  • AUTOCAD (should be able to understand & edit all Engineering Drawings)
  • Working knowledge on NABH norms
  • Emergency and Disaster Management
  • Audit procedures and schedules
  • Hospital codes and management
  • Energy efficiency management

Work and process optimization and management

We would need the following

1. Minimum 15 years in engineering field

2. At least last 5 years as Engineering Manager

3. Must be in each job for at least 2 years.

4. At least 2 years in any reputed hospital as Manager

Should have experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team
