Fission Labs is seeking a

Project/Program Manager

to deliver high-end solutions. The ideal candidate not only has the ability to provide technical leadership to major projects, but can also roll up their sleeves and contribute to the coding effort.

You'll also have strong web application development experience with either Java or JavaScript or RESTful services or Cloud (AWS or Azure).

We are looking for someone who not only optimizes their own code but makes sure engineers are able to optimize theirs.

Your Role

Manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.

Drive technical projects and provide leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Responsible for the overall planning, execution, and success of complex technical projects.

Work closely with product management and experience design team to ensure we're building the best products.

Contribute technically to projects.

Drive agile adoption & process improvements, evangelize the agile mindset, lead scrum meetings, be the problem solver for the team.

Hire and mentor the best talent bringing out the best in every engineer.

Nurture a culture of high performance, continuous improvement, creative problem solving, and innovation within the team.

What we look for/Skills

BE/Btech. in Computer Science or related field (e.g. Mathematics, Engineering)

10+ years of total software engineering experience with a thorough understanding of software product development.

3+ years of experience in a software engineering leadership position managing a team of 5-10.

Strong web application development experience ideally with any of the following: Java, Angular, React, and Node.

Will be customer oriented and skilled in developing a strong understanding of customer needs and marrying those with optimal technology solutions.

Well versed in Scrum principles and practices.

Strong requirements analysis and solution design abilities.

Experience using tools such as Jira and GitHub.

Experience with Java programming and a microservice container, such as Spring-Boot or DropWizard or NodeJS.

Experience with open source data stores, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, and MySQL.

Broad experience designing and implementing large-scale distributed systems.

Track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional and distributed teams.
