Summary of Job
In depth and sound knowledge of protein sciences, structural biology, protein expression systems, Drug discovery, Oncology/Immuno-oncology (optional)
Key Responsibilities
- Should have hands on experience on expression of protein using bacterial/mammalian and insect cell expression systems
- Should be well versed with designing and execution of experiments for high expression of protein from cells (e.coli, mammalian & insect) and be able to troubleshoot experimental problems
- Should have knowledge of designing primers using advanced online tools (premier primer, NCBI tools, others), cloning techniques for expression
- Protein purification: Should have hands on experience in purification of target protein (Tagged as well as untagged native protein) using manual columns and advance instruments like FPLC, ACTA from cultures (500 mL to 5L culture)
- Should have hands on experience in using related technologies and instruments for protein purification and quantification like SDS-PAGE, BCA/Bradford method of quantification, multimode plate readers
- Well versed with DNA and protein gel electrophoresis, IEF, western blotting, capillary electrophoresis, using cut-off membranes for protein concentration etc.
- Cell based assays: Candidate with knowledge and additional hands on experience of conducting biochemical assays and cellular assays would be a plus and required for the profile
- Well versed with the data analysis techniques/software (GraphPad prism is must) used in laboratories
- Should be familiar with latest technologies used for protein expression and purifications and characterization of proteins and antibodies
Qualification
M.Sc (Biochemistry/Biotechnology) or M.Tech (Biotechnology), Ph.D (Biology)
Experience
M.Sc (5-9 years of relevant industry experience) or
Ph.D (Biology) with relevant industry experience (2-3 years)
Key Competencies (Technical, Functional & Behavioural)
Technical & Functional:
- Multimode plate readers,
- ACTA purification system or FPLCs,
- SDS-PAGE, IEF, western blot, operation of centrifuge, ELISA,
Behavioural:
- Team player, ability to work with multidisciplinary teams,
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work under stringent timelines,
- Good communication skills
