This position will oversee the general accounting and month end close processes for the North America division. They will also have some financial reporting responsibilities mostly on a quarterly basis. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Performing journal entries as part of month end close which will be recorded in the Workday ERP system. This candidate should be able to independently prepare entries along with well-organized support and be able to understand and explain all entries they are responsible for.
- Prepare account reconciliations on a monthly basis with well documented support. This candidate should have a good understanding of accounts and risk factors and be able to identify any issues within the accounts they are responsible for.
- Provide Audit requests as needed from both internal and external auditors.
- Comply with internal SOX requirements. Candidates will be assigned key controls that pertain to the entities and accounts that they are responsible for and are expected to be able to both execute on those controls as well as understand them and their purpose.
- Provide Ad Hoc reporting and analysis as needed. This can be reporting requests or analysis needed that pertains to the areas within their responsibility. Candidates are expected to be able to navigate workday and other key system reporting and understand how to analyze their accounts identify risks.
- Provide flux analysis comparing both income statement and balance sheet accounts across various periods and be able to explain major drivers for the change in balances on a monthly basis.
- Financial reporting requests that relate to financial disclosures, financial statement tie outs, roll-forward schedules and other deliverables needed by the technical accounting team relate to financial reporting.
