JOB DETAIL
We are looking for a specialist Product Owner supporting to drive and execute the vision to our next generation Integration solution for SDx.
This person will use their experience and understanding of our customers’ work processes & data flows required to satisfy current and future requirements.
Using this input will help to detail the solution scope, limitations, capabilities, performance characteristics, and functional requirements covering the involved products.
Whilst the position will need to focus on SDx as the Integration hub, it will also need to work with people that are producers and consumers of information going in and out of SDx.
The Product Owner for SDx and Design Tool Integration will be able to describe the value to stakeholders (and product owners) of integrating with SDx.
The Product Owners main function is to help the development teams by defining clear and concise business requirements and communicating the requirements also in form of a well-organized and prioritized backlog to all stakeholders of the project or program.
A successful Product Owner is one who is highly skilled in terms of understanding and defining business processes, building solutions, communicating requirements, and controlling project scope.
The Product Owner is responsible for validating solutions during and after project delivery to ensure the solution has satisfied the business requirements.
As a team leader, the product owner aspect of this role ensures that the teamwork is meaningful and impactful.
Responsibilities
This position requires individuals to define product strategy and oversee product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle, in the area of Integration of Smart 3D and Schematics using SDx.
Day to day involvement in supporting assigned scrum team(s)
Attending daily meetings, ensuring teams have all they need to progress stories
Prioritizing technical debt. vs new features
Define product backlog in the form of creating and detailing user stories and manage the execution to enhance SDx, providing enough capability that existing Integration customers can start using SDx.
Ensure all stories have conditions of satisfaction
Prioritize and engage with support, customers and field etc.
Engage with other product owners, especially from the PPM Design Tools, on a frequent basis for requirements planning and team assignments
Help maintain and enhance our demonstration capability
Support to provide plans and Epics for pragmatic approach to key areas of integration capability: e.g.: standardization of interface points (API’s), correlation, central tag naming, data ownership, consolidation, inconsistencies.
Vetting the backlog and requirements to be aligned with the concepts of a SaaS offering and understanding the overall best practices around building reusable and scalable micro services.
Document and maintain the work processes and object data flows, from FEED through to construction, commissioning, and startup and into operations and maintenance.
Plan Epics to address the gaps with priorities.
Educate peers and other product owners on the challenges and proposed solutions required to switch from document-based exchange of information to a object and status based exchange.
Ideate with SDx product owners of how to extend key work processes to include Integrated information e.g.: Management of change, Quality reviews, etc.
Use internal and external master classes, consultancy, workshops and technical assistance/direction internally and externally to educate f ield personnel and customers
Manage continuous delivery of product and features through DevOps best practices
Manage highly visible projects with Agile project management principles and practices
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering / Software Engineering or similar with 10 to 12 years overall experience in the IT/ engineering industry and at least 3 plus years in software product management
Worked in industry or a project environment ideally in an engineering project and/or industrial facility operations and maintenance environment.
Skills Required
Essential:
Exposure to Hexagon PPMs products or that of competitors in the segment.
Awareness about Software Development life cycle and proficiency in Agile Scrum product development methodologies.Experience in product/project management as a product owner is very essential.
Domain expertise in Engineering Materials procurement and management
Good Communication skills (written and Oral).
Good attitude and analytical skills.
Desirable:
Experience in Hexagon PPMs Smart 3D, Smart 2D suite, SPF &/ SDx is a plus.
