JOB DETAIL

  • Install and configure software and hardware
  • Manage network servers and technology tools
  • Set up accounts and workstations
  • Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages
  • Ensure security through access controls, backups, and firewalls
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models
  • Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
  • Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management
  • Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
  • Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Managing the IT Network & Security through its complete life cycle, including implementations, preventative maintenance, capacity planning, and interconnectivity
  • Procurement of IT Network & Security components
  • Provide maintenance, enhancements, and development for the agreed specialist areas
  • Provide administration, configuration, and fault diagnostics of hardware and software including Cloud services where appropriate
  • Software/hardware license management and forecasting to ensure compliance and certification to meet requirements
  • Identifying the needs for network and security-associated policies, standards, and strategies and contributing to the development and maintenance of them
  • Development and maintenance of team training materials, delivery of training, FAQs and other documentation designed to assist users
  • Provide technical assistance and back up to the support teams to resolve issues impacting our systems and data availability
  • Coordinate IT network and security-related technical evaluations, reports, and systems analysis with recommendations
  • Quality assurance of IT network and security, overall systems security standards (both internal and external), and network and security procedures
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems.
  • Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software

 

  • BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline; professional certification -- MCSA, MCSE, Linux, etc., is a plus
