Job Description (Data Architect)
Compunnel Digital is seeking technical architects with a strong track record of big data, data warehousing, and data lakes to join our Engineering team providing expertise in Advanced Analytics and Data Science / Machine Learning across all industry sectors.
You will be responsible to develop, optimize, and oversee conceptual and logical database models. Your duties may include preparing architect reports, monitoring the system, and supervising system migrations.
This role requires you to be deeply technical and hands-on, and work closely with our sales teams and customers to help them to adopt Data Solutions. The successful candidates must have a good understanding of the value of data lifecycle (ingest, transform, curate, analyze, and predict), as well as, proven experience delivering solutions to executive-level business and technical leadership.
You will:
- Work closely with teams to collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions for our customers
- Ensure that industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards are integrated and followed for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among other concepts, to meet technical and business goals
- Continuously improve the quality, consistency, accessibility, and security of our data activity across company and customer needs
Responsibilities:
Strategy & Planning
- As a specialist, provide technical proof points or drive and proof of value to the customer with Cloud based Data Solutions.
- Maintain intimate knowledge of industry trends, multidiscipline design patterns, development/deployment methodologies, and competitive data offerings while evangelizing solutions.
- Be a trusted advisor to the customers. Develop and present business cases, industry trends, competitive differentiators, in alignment with the go-to-market product and solution strategy.
- Achieve desired results through planning, risk management, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, governance, and team management
- Influence customer strategy, architecture, roadmap, and migration planning workshops spanning business, applications, information, and technology domains
- Maintain relevant expert-level competency across the data ecosystem Big Data, Data Lakes, Advanced Analytics, and Data Science.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Conduct research and make recommendations on data warehouse products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
- Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
- Evaluate and recommend data components, including hardware, database management systems, ETL (extract, transform, load) software, data mining tools, and meta data management tools.
Operational Requirement
- Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve data for our customers.
- Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming.
- Define and utilize statistical methods to solve industry-specific problems in varying fields, such as economics and engineering
- Identify data discrepancies and data quality issues, and work to ensure data consistency and integrity.
- Identify inefficiencies and gaps in current data warehouses and leverage solutions to ensure data standards
- Prepare detailed reports for our customers and various stakeholders by analyzing and interpreting data
- Design computer code using various languages to improve and update software and applications
- Refer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering data
- Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
Primary Skills:
- Primary focus on structured approach to gather business requirements, ability to break down business requirement into KPIs, Dimensions and Facts.
- Expertise in Data warehousing patterns and dimension modelling to develop, define and maintain different abstract layers of data models like conceptual, logical and physical.
- Expertise in Identifying the Business Process, Grain, Dimensions, Facts and build schemas.
- Hands on experience in data analysis and dimension modelling for analytical databases.
- Proficiency in Identifying new information capabilities needed to support business capabilities of a given business domain and to suggest and implement improvements in architecture.
- Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
- In-depth understanding of RDBMS concepts, and expertise in writing advanced SQL queries
- Good knowledge of metadata management, data modelling, and related tools (Erwin or ER Studio or others) required.
- Experience in team management, communication, and presentation
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Dimension/Data Modelling
- Minimum of 8 years of consulting experience in SQL and NoSQL.
- Expertise in cloud-based data solutions such as Azure Data Factory, Data Bricks, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics, RDS, AZURE SQL etc.
- Overall 8-10 years of industry experiences with sound knowledge of Data warehousing & Data Modelling using industry leading tools

- Engaging with business partners and IT to understand requirements from various parts of an organization to drive the design, programming execution, and UAT for future state capabilities within the platform.
- Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while managing multiple projects and strict deadlines
- Good understanding of outsourcing and off shoring, building win/win strategies and contracts with suppliers
- Knowledge of Reporting Tools like Power BI/Tableau
- Experience with Cloud data bases and ETL tool.
- Familiarity with processing flat files, fixed-width, csv, json, xml, apis, message queues
