Description:

As a Proposal Writer, you will have the responsibility for delivering eloquent, persuasive proposals for our public and private sector prospects. The Proposal Writer's responsibilities include gathering information, formatting the information according to company policy, obtaining manager approval, and sending the proposal to the appropriate source(s). To be successful as a Proposal Writer, you should be articulate, have excellent written communication skills, and be able to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines. You must be able to be consistent, detail-oriented, and able to write in a factual, convincing manner.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to define, schedule, and manage the proposal preparation process, ensuring responses are complete and meet all mandatory compliance requirements
  • Researching, writing, and organizing information in a professional and credible manner
  • Translate solutions into effective business proposals
  • Coordinate and review/edit proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal and Professional Services
  • Prioritizing responsibilities to meet deadlines
  • Editing and revising proposals according to feedback
  • Maintaining consistency in proposal writing by following company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Business, or related fields is required
  • 4-6 years of proposal writing experience
  • 4-6 years of experience working in an environment where business is conducted in the English language, including verbal and written communications
  • 1-3 years of experience using a proposal software
  • 2+ years of technical writing experience, preferably while working in the software industry
  • Advanced mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel and SharePoint
  • Experience using online databases like Salesforce, and performing searches on the web
  • 4-6 years of experience working in a cooperative team environment with one or more peers who had the same or similar responsibilities
  • Experience working on projects under the direction of a Proposal Manager.
  • Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all internal and external personnel, regardless of title
  • Experience working in high-pressure environments
