Role: Data Architect
Location: Mumbai, Lower Parel
Experience: 5-8 years
Position Summary: The data architect is responsible for visualizing and designing an organization's enterprise data management framework. This framework describes the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data and worked in tandem with Application Architect and Infrastructure Architect.
Responsibilities:
- Translating business requirements into technical specifications, including data streams, integrations, transformations, databases, and data warehouses.
- Outlining data managements governing standards and principles.
- Implement a Data Catalogue of enterprise data assets and characteristic.
- Develop a reference architecture that includes data domain specs.
- Document how data flows from its origination to destination/acquisitions points.
- Outline data integration techniques and processes. Specify the data access methods and architect data services.
- Ensure data governance, compliance and security/protection with proper roles and privileges to ensure no leakages of data within and outside orgnaistion.
- Create an inventory of the data necessary to build and implement a data architecture.
- Envision data pipelines and how data will flow through the enterprise.
- Maintain a repository of all data architecture procedures and artifacts.
- Evaluate current data management technologies and what additional tools are needed.
- Determine upgrades and improvements to current data architectures.
- Defining the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modelling, metadata, security, reference data.
- Defining reference architecture, which is a pattern others can follow to create and improve data systems.
- Defining data flows, i.e., which parts of the organization generate data, which require data to function, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition.
- Collaborating and coordinating with multiple departments, stakeholders, partners, and external vendors.
- Advises teams of IT technology standard requirements, methodology and processes.
- Participates in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
- Evaluate technology, market trends and industry plus identify prospective impact on data and business.
- Develops long-term strategy for historical data retention and archival plan for storage needs.
- Defines data retention, backup, and recovery methods and plans.
- Design and develop data /Machine learning blueprints for the implementation of new solutions.
- Responsible for impact analysis and design modifications to existing database systems to support new solutions.
- Experience in Data migration at application /DB version level.
- Gathers performance statistics from the various tools related to data and recommend for the tuning of Databases. Initiate database configuration parameters to maximize throughput and efficiencies.
- Develops specifications for interfaces from existing to new systems.
- Maintain a common documentation library of standardized procedures and configurations
- Provide S3 level support for incidents and problems in designated areas of expertise.
- Communicate and collaborate with IT staff as well as colleagues for configuration, troubleshooting.
Qualification :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology and/or related discipline required.
- Master’s degree in same or similar a plus
Work experience:
- Minimum of five to eight years of related work experience.

Technical Skills:
- Design and defining data models like star schema, snowflake schema, define key and surrogate keys and design of data that implement the intended business model.
- Develop diagrams representing key data entities and their relationships.
- Generate a list of components needed to build the designed system.
- Communicate clearly, simply, and effectively.
- Data architects need to understand established data management and reporting technologies, and have some knowledge of columnar and NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data.
- Data architects need to articulate, persuasive and they must conceive and portray the big data picture to others.
- Must have worked on reporting solution like Power BI, QlikView and integrate the reporting solution with Data lake /Data mart.
- Must have worked in Azure and/or AWS .
- Must have worked on Databricks, Kafka, Spark, Azure synapse, Azure Data Factory , AWS redshift, AWS Data pipeline, AWS Glue, Snowflake, Google BigQuery.
- Must have worked on streaming and real time data integration from social media , IoT devices etc.
- Must have knowledge and worked on Data lake, Delta Lake , Spark SQL and Data Mart project.
- Must have knowledge and worked with Big data technologies like Hadoop, Azure HDinsight, spark , Scala etc.
- Must have knowledge and worked on CDC, ETL processes and various loading techniques.
- Must have knowledge and worked on Data lineage tools like Data 360 degree.
- Programming languages, including Java, Spyspark, Python and C/C++, as well as unified modelling language
- Must have knowledge and worked on IBM DataStage, IBM CDC, Qlick replicate, QlickView, QlikSense or similar kind of tools.
- Must have worked in DevSecOps and Liquibase/flyway to integrate the DML, DDL scripts into CI/CD pipeline.
- Must have knowledge and worked on databases , RDBMS, No SQL technology knowledge like Mongo DB, Cosmos DB, Athena, MS SQL, Oracle , MySQL, AWS S3, Blob storage, ADLS Gen 2.
