Create new websites from scratch on WordPress or Shopify platforms
Add features as needed for the project using the right themes, apps, and plugins
Create websites that are functionally high performing while also looking great
Create a website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices
Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices
Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs
Be responsible for maintaining, expanding, and scaling the website projects
Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them into operations and activities
Understand the business requirements of clients and suggest the right apps/ plugins to help achieve the business goals
Write code in one or more programming or scripting languages, such as PHP, Liquid or JavaScript
Test sites and websites in different browsers and environments
Fix bugs in existing projects
Test new features thoroughly to ensure they perform the correct task in all cases
Coordinate with designers, developers, and project managers for progress updates
Requirements
Proven work experience of 1-2 years in tenets of Web Development
Proficient hands-on experience with HTML and CSS is a must.
Experience on either WordPress or Shopify is a must.
Proficient knowledge of a back-end programming language (Depending on the specific case, a developer should have the knowledge of one or more: PHP, light, Java, JavaScript, etc.)
Understanding differences between multiple delivery platforms (such as mobile vs, desktop), and optimizing output to match the specific platform
Data migration, transformation, and scripting
Management of hosting environment, including database administration and scaling an application to support load changes
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools ability to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Photoshop is useful.
