JOB DETAIL

The Group: The Corporate Systems team manages and supports Morningstar's Corporate platforms used globally across Marketing, Sales, Service, Robotic Process Automation tool (UiPath), Finance and Employee Tools. The Role:  The team is looking for a Product Manager to join the Robotic Process Automation technical team. This position is based out of our Mumbai office. The Product Manager would work closely with the business teams and is expected to play a pivotal role in executing the RPA product Roadmap through active coordination with the local team - Engineering, QA and the Technical Manager.

Responsibilities: Product Manager will have the following key activities

  • Creation and maintenance of the product roadmap along with business teams and the engineering teams including milestones/features/releases
  • Assist in articulating the requirements to the local development team; this will involve assisting in creating user stories and defining acceptance criteria
  • Act as a first point of contact for the local Engineering team to clarify any doubts around requirements
  • Prioritizing development team backlog (based on understanding of projects, applications, and imminent business needs)
  • Maintaining accurate and current records of changing business requests for all IT products, business owners, and departments supported
  • Defining up-to-date product roadmaps in alignment with an evolving marketplace, technical trends, and efficiencies
  • Working closely with the Project Management office to ensure project requests are accurately represented and a products future direction is understood
  • Analyzing and documenting new project ideas; updating changing priorities accordingly
  • Logging user feedback and responding in a timely manner
  • Coordinating and facilitating end user and business testing
  • Providing and recording user story details for Scrum team project planning
  • Acting as a point of contact to translate business requests into technical requests
  • Presenting new product enhancements and identifying areas for improvement
  • Serving as an IT liaison between the business and our technology department
  • Assisting in improvising the Product Documentation which can help Client Service & Support team, Sales & Business team in ease of doing Business with Research Products team
  • Oversight and approval of product requirements, ongoing prioritization (backlog grooming), and ensuring business cases are robustly estimated and tracked against these through the product lifecycle
  • Work with QA to define testing strategies & review test cases
  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) / business testing of new functionalities which gets introduced into the Products on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure that the product development is done within Morningstar operational excellence standards
  • Take responsibility of owning the ‘Product Roadmap Management’ and ‘Release Management’

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 
  • 5+ years of business analysis and/or Product Management experience. Blend of business analysis and project management would be desirous
  • Having worked in the RPA tools domain will be an added advantage.
  • Having a go-getter attitude, being self-directed, detail orientated & possessing good interpersonal skills are few of the basic skill set required for this role
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to drive projects independently and navigating around ambiguous requirements to structure it in a way that is well understood by Engineering team
  • Hands-on experience with a globally dispersed team is desired
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle is required; understanding of Agile methodology will be a plus
  • Understanding of financial markets is desired. Having done certification or courses related to Financial Markets will be a plus.
