The successful candidate will be focused on identifying correct system level solutions that require coordination and integration across the disciplines that meet business needs.
They will also assist in tracking and resolving problems, by gathering information and performing initial impact analysis, and then pulling together members from different teams to find root cause. The candidate is expected to be able to handle a moderate level of multi-tasking across different concurrent projects.
The candidate will also interface and coordinate with a wide-ranging group of individuals from different disciplines including marketing, engineering, IT, Human Factors, and product supply. They will coordinate the inception of the product concept, perform requirements tradeoff analysis and definition, facilitate the technical design approach, monitor testing and support product release for Pitney Bowes new and sustaining mailing equipment product development.
Key Attributes:
- 5 8+ years experience in Product and/or IT Design
- Familiarity with Data Analysis/Tools and applying them to analyze project and field issues
- Familiarity with emerging cloud based infrastructures
- Familiarity with SW Development and Deployment Processes
- Experience with Electro-mechanical systems is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Takes lead in providing requirements document, clarifies product level operation with multiple stakeholders. Must have a strong background in clearly expressing these requirements to the whole development group, test groups, business, service and manufacturing teams. Acts as the Technical conscience of the product definition.
- Excellent Planning/Coordination skills
- Helps core team leader with feature prioritization in development, integration planning, postal approval planning and field test execution
- Able to lead small to moderate size teams in a collaborative manner
- Routinely takes the lead to work across group boundaries to ensure the right tasks are worked on and have correct technical implementation as determined by system testing.
Key Accountabilities:
- Program/System Requirements Definition and Documentation including System Use Cases and workflows, and Functional System and Sub system level Requirements.
- Meter specific documentation including Meter PCN Specification (MSA), DLA parameterization (DPCS), IT Infrastructure Setup Request and other meter specific system level documentation.
- Coordinates Feature Analysis and Tradeoffs and workflows
- Coordinates with IT for Infrastructure Architecture, Functionality and deployment model
- System Analysis (Field performance tracking, Postal Reporting support and ad hoc systemic field issue analysis to triage to (i.e. determine most likely group to track down root cause)
- Supports and coordinates technical planning and schedule tracking
- Core Team/Coordination Meeting support/leadership
- Issue Identification, Analysis and resolution (aka Problem mgt)
- Conducts Technical and Program Level Risk Analysis
- Deployment coordination with Product Supply/Manufacturing
- Coordinates with Human Factors on user testing/Beta testing
- Test Strategy Support and design for manufacturability and serviceability
- Needs to overlap a portion of their day with US time-zone based team members.
