Role Summary:
Media 7 is looking for an experienced SEO manager with a proficiency in growing organic visibility, traffic and conversions for a media company while implementing actionable strategies, tactics that are aligned with the business goals and objectives.
Experience working with a media or publishing company would be an added benefit.
Skills:
Clear understanding of best practices in On-page and Off-page SEO tactics.
Able to provide content team with weekly suggestions on keyword research, campaign planning, developing Google accepted content, content distribution and analysis.
Create KPIs to measure progress.
Proven track record in brand management.
Ability to create and execute campaigns based on the companys objectives and vision.
Link building techniques.
Have the skills necessary to generate web traffic for the business.
Management and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic, data-driven leadership across the enterprise to plan and execute the SEO work that will best deliver on our companys growth goals.
Build a team of SEO specialists and partner with marketing and content teams within the organization to plan and execute SEO strategies across our portfolio of websites.
Represent SEO across the organization and articulate present needs and future visions
Work with SEO team members to design and deliver search performance and content consumption reporting, observations, and optimization recommendations.
Optimize insight identification and communication between SEO and content development team for search volume and user intent.
Identify where we are ranking and translating that into creation of adjacent content that ranks.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies and platforms as well as changes in Googles algorithm to identify opportunities for improvement.
Establish SEO best practices and long-term strategies that will maximize organic search performance and increase quality traffic to our websites.
Champion SEO and educate teams on needs, possibilities, and results.
Diagnose and prioritize website performance issues that affect SEO.
Work with the SEO team to regularly mine data and conduct competitive analysis to find content gaps, ID where we are losing ground, and propose new experiments.
Support the cross-training of editors and writers on SEO, including editorial and technical best practices, 101 trainings, and optimization of content.
Lead regular performance audits of meta information, URL, internal linking, and other SEO best practices.
Qualifications:
BA/BS: Business or Marketing preferred
Deep knowledge of search best practices and trends, with a genuine interest in how and why people search
SEO team leadership and management experience in a results-focused environment
Track record of successfully driving significant SEO results and traffic growth in an publishing environment is preferred
Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate SEO concepts and priorities across all levels of the organization, particularly through data and reporting
High level of ownership and initiative, pushing through challenges to deliver strong results
Experience with global SEO strategy and implementation (multiple countries/regions and languages) is preferred
Great partnership and collaboration skills, and the ability to drive progress in a hybrid agile environment
Experience working with developers and UX designers is a plus.
