Roles and Responsibilities
- Define target audience, outline manuals, and write documentation that is technically accurate and conforms to company's writing style guidelines.
- Document new features and maintain existing documentation, including online helps and PDFs.
- Work closely with developers, product architects, and product owners to create technical documentation with a high focus on clarity, completeness, accuracy, and usability.
- Obtain product information from agile meetings, specifications, supplemental material, and discussions with project engineers.
- Participate in peer review processes to improve documentation quality.
- Contribute to develop and maintain existing documentation processes, standards, checklists, and templates.
- Suggest screen labels and error messages with a focus on improving the customer experience (UX).
- Create graphics to supplement flow and presentation of the content.
- Help in translation and localization processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Proven English writing skills. Knowledge of MSTP is required
- Experience with the single-source documentation development methodology (MadCap Flare).
- Ability to obtain information through research, interviews, and experimentation
- Decision-making and planning skills.
- Self-motivated with positive attitude and analytical skills.
- Ability to deliver in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Experience with source control systems(Git, SVN)
- Experience with project management tools(JIRA, Confluence)
- Experience working with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), and Visio.
- Bachelors degree in English, Journalism, technical writing, or a related field. Preference to BE/B.Tech/M. Tech/MCA degree holders.
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in the software industry, writing/editing for global (US/UK) audience.
