Purpose

To define, deliver and maintain data solutions that add value to client relationships, support the achievement of income targets, increase internal efficiency and improve decision making.

As a recognized data expert within EQ Boardroom this role will be critical in the delivery and execution of the EQ Boardroom Data Strategy Roadmap and creating a data culture.

Responsibilities

• Define, prioritise and deliver data driven use cases.
• Build and maintain relevant data models.
• Maintain and develop the enterprise data platform, including ingestion of data from the pipeline delivery points.
• Collaborates with business users and data analysts to understand complex requirements that may extend beyond EQ Boardroom processes and systems.
• Take a broad perspective to solution design to provide advice, recommendations and best practise solutions.
• Drive greater standardisation and best practice into existing data transformation activity to help scale effectively i.e. development of a data catalogue and consistent terms/definitions.
• Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations, actively collaborates with Data Analysts and broader EQ Boardroom team and clients.
• Act as a data champion with EQ Boardroom sharing own experience and insight to support a data driven culture.
• May, from time to time, lead functional teams or projects.

Skills/ Attributes and Behaviours:

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following experience, skills and behaviours:

• Advanced SQL essential.
• Experience of data lake and / or data warehouse design and implementation and supporting processes to help scale effectively i.e. data catalogues and risk frameworks.
• Experience of above in a reserved cloud instance or a cloud-based on-premise solution i.e. Azure, desired but not essential.
• Experience of report building in tableau or Power BI, or the desire to upskill in this area.
• Good communication, stakeholder management and relationship skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced working environment, identifying priorities and actioning tasks.
• Adapts personal style to suit the situation and needs of others.

• Some commercial awareness with the ability to correlate data services with organisational effectiveness and profitability.
