Zymr is seeking an experienced leader to head and further grow a team of talented DevOps and SRE engineers. You will be responsible for defining the DevOps, DevSecOps and SRE strategy, approach, and execution in all software product development projects. This is a customer-facing role and you will get a chance to work with senior leadership of some of the fastest-growing product and platform companies and Startup ecosystem around the globe. This position will report to the VP of Engineering/Director.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Own and grow the DevOps and SRE business practice within Zymr.
- Responsible for end-to-end delivery of all DevOps activities across multiple projects.
- Collaborating with key stakeholders in the Sales, Engineering, QA, Delivery, Customer Success, & Product Management teams
- Participate in pre-sales activities like responding to RFPs, Work effort estimations, creating case studies, etc.
- Focus on continuous DevOps knowledge improvement by researching the latest Build and Release tools, CI/CD pipeline tools, Cloud Infrastructure management services, Containerization orchestration frameworks, training the team, and documenting best practices.
- Responsible for the hiring, onboarding, and training of new DevOps Engineers, Leaders and Managers who are capable of setting up end-to-end CI/CD pipelines from scratch.
- Work closely with senior management to define team structure and develop career development frameworks for the DevOps team
- Own the appraisals and performance reviews for the DevOps team.
- Transform and drive superior customer experience via improved quality, monitoring, incident management capabilities, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Be an escalation point for all matters related to testing and quality assurance and operate as a primary point of contact for the DevOps teams.
Desired Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Build and Release and IT Infrastructure Management, 8+ years of experience in managing the DevOps practice of a product engineering services company that delivers enterprise-grade software products and platforms
- Experience in managing the top three public cloud infrastructure: Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google GCP, with hands-on expertise in at least one of them.
- Should have worked on one of the private clouds like VMware or OpenStack.
- Experience in designing automated CI/CD pipelines for new software projects, right from project kickoff to production deployment and maintenance.
- Experience in using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Bamboo and even on platforms like Bitbucket, Github and Gitlab.
- Experience working with configuration management systems like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Saltstack,etc.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience and expertise on working with containerization tools like Docker.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience and expertise in container orchestration tools like Kubernetes and its eco-system like Rancher, OpenShift, etc.
- Experience and deep understanding of the DevSecOps ecosystem.
- Experience with managing projects for SRE in production environments.
- Ability to work in an iterative, Agile development environment
- Be an advocate of Security, Automation, Continuous Improvement, and industry-recognized Best Practices
- Conduct training and thought leadership sessions for the Engineering Team.
- Experience participating in industry events and represent your company with high standards
