Describe the role
We are looking for an industry-knowledgeable production support analyst with 3-5 years of information technology experience, preferably for investment management, trading, or risk management systems.
Technical experience should include a combination of database programming and command-line / scripting languages (Shell and Perl). The position requires a basic understanding of the financial industry and Capital Markets, and experience working with market and reference data used to support the Fixed Income business.
The candidate s primary responsibility will be to support the daily production batches which support the data acquisition lifecycle, including vendor sourcing and scrubbing, data enrichment, exception management framework, data mastering and distribution to the firm s investment management applications and data warehouses.
The candidate will liaise heavily with the FIT team in NY, as well as the operational teams in San Antonio and Pune responsible for reference, analytics and index data management.
Over time, we expect the candidate to function as an application developer, working on both small enhancements and larger projects related to Core Instrument, Index and Risk data acquisition, augmenting the NY implementation team.
The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to
- Learn the FIT infrastructure, data models and related data flows.
- Develop a solid understanding of the CADIS development platform.
- Monitor and trouble shoot production jobs.
- Perform root cause analysis and resolve issues.
- Use SQL database language for data analysis and inquiry.
- Partner with other onshore and offshore support personnel.
- Work with IT on system and functional enhancements; test results and resolve issues.
Job Qualifications
Required Education, Experience, Skills:
- BS/MS in either Information Systems, Finance/Mathematics, or Computer Science
- Proven track record of 3-5 years of continuous experience in development and implementation of data solutions, ideally in financial services, specifically with portfolio management or trading applications in a cross-platform environment.
- Proficient SQL coding and tuning, especially MS SQL. Experience working with Sybase IQ, or another data warehousing tool would be very desirable.
- Familiar with the Linux operating system and basic performance measurement tools.
- Experience working in the MS development environment including .Net and C#.
- Experience working with enterprise scheduler (such as Control-M or Autosys)
- Experience supporting the entire software development and implementation lifecycle; work on multiple streams simultaneously. Should be able to work with onshore and offshore developers for solution implementation.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Investment Banking or Investment Management application delivery experience, with specific emphasis on Fixed Income.
- Working knowledge of fixed income securities products, including derivatives (Corporates, Munis, Governments, ABS/MBS, interest rate and credit swaps).
- Experience working with security reference data and market data providers such as Barclays POINT, Bloomberg or Reuters.
