JOB DETAIL

We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Confluent Pricing Monetization team. As a member of the team, you will contribute toward the two key pillars of the team

  • Cloud Pricing Strategy Operations - Set pricing packaging strategy through customer research, competitive analysis, and benchmarking in order to achieve revenue and adoption goals across different Confluent Cloud products. Drive cross-functional alignment on pricing across key internal stakeholders such as Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Revenue. Create and govern policies around discounting, renewals, and deal structure for cloud customers. Handle pricing communication marketing with internal stakeholders as well as customers
  • Cloud Monetization Billing platform - Drive strategy and roadmap for the Billing Platform Engineering team to build a flexible, accurate, performant, and robust monetization platform responsible for supporting flexible pricing and payments, on-demand bill generation, etc. allowing Confluent to define and sell products globally. Work cross-functionally with different teams to ensure a seamless experience across different stages of the revenue generation pipeline starting from product/feature onboarding to revenue recognition. This role involves interaction with internal teams such as Product, Engineering, Sales etc, as well as Confluent customers to understand their needs, translate those into key initiatives, and prioritize them against Confluent s strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand different cloud/SaaS pricing billing ecosystems, competitive landscape, and user requirements and challenges
  • Work across constituencies to create shared understanding and direction with Engineering, Product, Sales, Deal Desk, and Operations teams within Confluent
  • Identify and prioritize initiatives for the Cloud Monetization Billing Platform Engineering team to deliver value for internal and external stakeholders
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives from conception through initial delivery and ongoing iteration after launch.
  • Define quantitative and qualitative targets, measure performance against them, share results with stakeholders and incorporate those learnings into the next development cycle
  • Deliver value while handling the surprises and challenges of a quickly evolving product, ambitious partnership targets, and a rapidly growing organization.

What We re Looking For:

  • 3+ years of software product management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business outcomes through product changes
  • Experience with SaaS, developer tools, and/or cloud infrastructure products and services
  • A good understanding of the different pricing and billing models in the SaaS industry
  • Strong project management skills and ability to perform in a fast-paced and high-energy environment with a positive entrepreneurial approach
  • Clear, structured thinking and excellent communication skills
