Position Overview

Our client is seeking a bright, talented and capable IT professional to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer. We have an open position with a asset management firm in South Carolina. There, you can architect and develop the greenfield development of a new data platform to support investment portfolio analytics. This individual will work with the team to review legacy infrastructure and integration, and subsequently determine not only the architecture for the system, but also processes for migrating, processing and analyzing data on top of this new platform. The role includes:

●     Create a new data system that will be the backbone of a financial company’s needs.

●     Collaborate with the team to review legacy infrastructure and legacy data integration, and create resulting next generation applications for the new platform.

●     Support the greenfield development of the new platform by determining organizational needs, coordinating stakeholders, and utilizing best practices to influence the overall architecture.

 

Position Requirements

●     University degree or college diploma in the field of Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent

●     Minimum of 5 years architecting and supporting a software system on a public cloud provider (preferably Azure or AWS)

●     Strong communication skills, both written and oral, as the candidate will be interacting frequently with firm executives and senior level management

●     Capable of multitasking and having the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks

●     Must be motivated and have attention to detail

●     Must be passionate about technology

 

Technical Best Fit

●     At least 5 years of experience with:

○     Python

○     Standard data processing libraries including: Pandas, numpy, etc

○     Dask

○     Prefect, Apache Airflow or equivalent

○     Snowflake

○     Agile / Scrum process

○     Test driven development / behavior driven development

○     CI/CD

○     Investment Management domain knowledge

●     General experience (2 – 5 years)

○     Developing Web applications.

○     Developing Windows services.

○     Developing real-time / event-based applications.

○     Developing data integrating applications.

○     Service oriented architecture / micro services / Web services

○     Building software with event / queue / messaging subsystems

●     Preferably familiar with (around 2 years’ experience)
