- IT Business partner for Biology, Data Sciences, Lab Systems, Medicinal Chemistry and Process Engineering.
- Together with Biology, Chemistry & Data Science leaders develop plan and roadmaps for key research systems including SONAR, Dotmatics, Empower and KNIME. Oversee technology support activities for key research systems.
- Create detailed business analysis, outlining problems, opportunities and solutions for Wave Discovery when required.
- Together with Data Science issue monthly compliance and operational reports; ensure follow up and escalation as appropriate.
- Participate in and eventually lead new R&D technology projects including SONAR P2 & 3, LIMS, lab automation, robotics, non-clinical/tox/biology data lakes.
- Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, industry trends, problem solving techniques and computing practices, especially in the areas of Discovery Informatics Platform, Lab Automation, Pipelining and Analysis tools.
- Together with MedChem leaders develop and support Wave Med Chem software
- Coordinate software upgrades with key vendors and managed service partners
- Support machine learning activities via KNIME to create new insights into WAVE’s chemistry platform
- Identify opportunities for Wave to further leverage data and analytics to improve its economic, competitive, and operational positioning.
- Establish controls for ensuring efficient and effective data management functions are performed.
- Advocate for and champion a data-driven culture, supporting related competencies and data literacy across Wave.
Education and Experience:
- BS degree In Computer Science; Information Management/Technology; Software Engineering required. Graduate degree highly preferred
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical/Biotech companies; 5 years’ experience working in R&D required
- Experience with Discovery systems including eLNB, compound registration, visualization, inventory management and statistics required
- Experience leading teams, projects or Discovery business functions preferred
- Working knowledge of FDA, EMA regulations such as Annex 11, 21 CFR Part 11, Part 210, 211; Computer Systems Validation and GAMP framework preferred
- The individual should be able to function in an agile, dynamic environment, and be able to rapidly adapt to new technologies
- Prior experience with cloud-based technologies, MS Azure, AWS preferred; experience with analytics and pipelining technologies preferred.
- Prior IT experience in Pharma/Biotech lab and/or manufacturing would be beneficial
