The DBA should have strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle 12c / 19c, Oracle Golden Gate, and Postgres
databases. It includes the creation and implementation of fully functional Oracle RAC & Postgres
database clusters, ability to manage multiple production and non-production database environments
with strong experience in troubleshooting break-fix issues, and health checks.
Responsible for providing day-to-day Health Checks, administration support, and
maintenance for existing and new Oracle & Postgres databases.
Assist in planning and performing database patching, upgrades and implementing
capacity and resource expansion to ensure scalability of the databases
Perform debugging, tuning and performance enhancement of the database platform
Monitor the High Availability solutions (includes DR) and Backup/Recovery operations
Identify inefficiencies in current databases and recommend solutions for improvement
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent
combination of education, technical training, or work experience.
Requires 8-10 years of related experience in the design, maintenance, and administration of
Oracle 12c & 19c RAC, Oracle Golden Gate, Postgres 11.x & higher versions
Previous experience in high volume environments will be required.
Strong knowledge of monitoring, management and capacity planning
Good knowledge of database backup and recovery, connectivity and security, and role
management
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of
technical experience
Experience in NoSQL (MongoDB / Elastic Search / Neo4j / Cassandra) database administration is
a definite plus
Must be versatile, flexible, and proactive when resolving technical issues
Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills
Professional Certifications: Oracle 12c / Oracle 19c / Golden Gate / Postgres certification is preferred.
