Build ETLs/ELTs to take data from various sources and build a unified dimensional or star schema data model for analytics and reporting
Work with the Director of Data Platform to understand needs for data structure, availability, and accessibility; Help to design a well-structured data warehouse
Develop tools to improve data flows between internal and/or external systems and the data warehouse
Facilitate data cleansing, enrichment, and data quality improvements
Support the translation of data needs into technical system requirements
Conduct design and code reviews
Mandatory
1+ year of recent core development experience with Azure Synapse Analytics (2 years preferred)
Working knowledge of Azure security principles and practices
Excellent communication skills
Desirable
1+ year of Azure Purview experience or excellent working knowledge thereof
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or Masters in computer science, information systems, or other technical fields
Experience in designing and implementing data warehouse solutions and exposure to the data lakehouse style of platform architecture
Experience on Azure data-intensive projects, particularly with Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS)
Experience with big data solutions, particularly Spark with python
Passionate about learning, be that about programming languages, tools, data sets or how they are used by various business units
Broad experience using SQL, and Python for data ingestion and transformation
Strong data documentation ability, including creation/modification of data dictionaries, versioning and quality control of datasets
Experience with business analytics tools such as Tableau
Strong analytic, critical thinking, and decision-making skills and able to identify and solve issues independently
