JOB DETAIL

Brief summary of purpose:

  • Responsible for managing the complete life cycle of large projects. This includes defining Business objectives, vision, includes standard and thorough documentation of these processes, excellent communication with business owners and other constituents success criteria and measurement, budget and/or ROI analysis, scope, , developing an implementation plan and project management throughout the project.

 

Required Experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of Project Management experience
  • Experienced in the use of Rational Unified Process, Use Cases, UML, Project Development Life Cycle.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and negotiate for resources.
  • Advanced knowledge of Project Management Methodology.
  • Advanced knowledge of system design and development.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Project, Excel, Visio, and all MS Office applications.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or MIS

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the project objectives. Define areas of responsibility including resource allocation, influencing sponsors and manage work prioritization.
  • Design processes and structures to support enterprise wide change
  • Manage one or more large-scale IT projects from beginning to end. The projects may include development, deployment, infrastructure with complexity around technology, cross-functional dependencies and multiple stakeholders across various business units.
  • Direct and consult with project team members, lead the preparation of project documentation, deliverables, milestones, resources, schedules and budgets.
  • Establish and oversee objectives and approach for large scale projects.
  • May perform preliminary scoping to determine assumptions and effort estimates.
  • Engage contractors (other PMs/BAs/Developers) and vendors for different aspects of project.
  • Defines metrics and monitors progress and project progress on large scale, cross-functional projects. Reports progress to business owner(s).
  • Ensure projects are consistent with project management strategy/policies and in accordance with federal, state and local regulations
