The SENIOR BUSINESS SYSTEMS ANALYST analyzes business and information needs in order to influence the design of optimal systems solutions. Working under minimal supervision, this analyst helps to design system solutions that are appropriate for business needs and consistent with the overall design of the organization's information systems architecture. People in this role also recommend continuous improvements to existing systems and processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Develop a relationship as a trusted partner with internal customers; learn their business to be mindful of their current and future needs.
* Engage client teams and explain moderately-complex initiatives in an understandable manner, while addressing any concerns from the client.
* Serve as liaison (primary point of contact) between technology and business partners.
* Work with project managers to plan and manage business partner accountability in technology projects.
* Lead business testing (UAT) and assist with QA testing as project SME.
* Drive the definition of detailed requirements, use cases and business rules, leveraging defined templates and processes.
* Develop methodology, frameworks and best practices related to definition and management of project requirements.
* Lead requirements review sessions with technology and business teams.
* Gather and document business and functional requirements.
* Manage traceability and changes to requirements.
* Translate business requirements into functional requirements.
* Review flow charts, models, and procedures to define and document system solution options.
* Educate end users on system designs and functionalities through creation of training or reference materials.
* Assist with data analysis and data mapping.
* Fulfill duties in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities.
* Effectively communicate strategies, issues and trade-offs to senior leaders and business partners, and across technology teams.
* Occasional evening and weekend work as needed to support team initiatives.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* At least 10 years experience in Business Analysis and Design.
* Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, including live presentations.
* Effective written and verbal communication.
* Demonstrated ability to clearly articulate ideas and results to diverse business and technical audiences.
* Advanced use of Microsoft tools: word, excel, powerpoint, visio.
* Leadership and coaching among technology teammates and business partners.
* Willingness and skills to execute on highly visible, complex initiatives requiring the ability to interact with leaders and create deliverables on very short timeframes.
* Experience with full range of the SDLC, in waterfall and/or agile environments.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
* Experience in business areas focused on risk management, regulatory compliance or fraud detection and prevention.
* Familiarity with company products, applications and data stores.
* Data query using SQL or similar tool.
* Organizational change management.
* Meeting facilitation, including JAD sessions.
* 3+ years of Agile experience.
* Experience working in Agile/Scrum environment.
* Working experience with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
* Experience or training as a Product Owner.
