 The Business Analyst is responsible for methodically investigating, analysing and documenting business processes and functions, identifying specific business benefits that could be gained from new or enhanced IT services and then creating viable specifications and acceptance criteria for information systems. 

In this role you will act as a critical link between the business functions providing the business requirements, and the IT team building the solution, and such will collaborate with functional leadership, Project Managers, IT teams and external vendors to ensure projects and enhancements are delivered in a cost effective manner without negatively impacting quality. 

 Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborates with global commercial services partners and customers to co-develop a roadmap and drive products features from concept to launch in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Works with cross-functional teams and various partners including analytics, UI/UX, engineering and user enablement. 
  • Turns data insights into product features with practical outcomes to the ultimate customer. 
  • Works in an Agile environment and continuously reviews the business needs, refines priorities, outlines turning points and deliverables, and finds opportunities and risks. 
  • Partners with team members and customers across the organization to inform the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization. 
  • Translates product roadmap into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, and acceptance test criteria. 
  • Builds and refines work items in the team backlog in order to keep it organized, relevant and progressively elaborated. Ensures there is enough backlog items in “ready” state to sustain team planning every two weeks. 
  • Prioritizes and maintains the sprint backlog for assigned products, balancing the requirements of customers. 
    • Requirements elicitation 
      • Identify, create and facilitate business process design enhancements and changes ensuring systems provided meet the long-term business strategies 
      • Lead structured meetings and use collaborative workshops to gather requirements and uncover expectations 
      • Elicit what is behind and underneath stated requirements rather than just collating and organising requirements 
      • Fully understand the business vision, needs, drivers for change, current struggles, internal and external factors and suggest solutions and alternatives 
      • Participate in case development for business and ensure benefits are achievable and trackable 
    • Design 
      • Produce understandable documentation of the final business requirements and processes maintaining a high professional standard 
      • Clearly define project requirements using appropriate documentation (business requirements, scope matrix, use cases, etc.) 
      • Address application displays, fields, and files as appropriate, and/or the process, rules, data, and capabilities of the solution 
      • Detail deliverables and success criteria as well as metrics to measure impact of changes and return on investment 
    • Communication and Demand Management 
      • Prioritize system functionality based on requirements and apply a Minimal Viable Product approach 
      • Act as the liaison between functional management and IT, performing as the internal “customer” during the build of the system 
      • Review design documentation with business users and represent the users with the Development Team

 Education / Experience 

  • Demonstrable track record of success in business analysis 
  • Certifications in relevant IT disciplines 
  • Proven experience in implementation of software solutions 
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems in a supply-chain environment
