Senior Scrum Master
The Senior Scrum Master guides and coaches the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services.  The Senior Scrum Master supports the team in achieving a high-performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and employing appropriate coaching and development techniques.  The role is responsible for ensuring Agile frameworks (i.e. Scrum, Kanban) being employed by Comerica are understood and that the team adheres to the  respective Agile framework theory, practices, and guidelines when possible.  The role coaches the Scrum team in self-organization, domain knowledge, and effective communication techniques for use both internally within the Scrum team and with other partners including the Product Owner, Stakeholders, and other partner teams in Technology or Business.  The Senior Scrum Master removes or remediates impediments for the Scrum team impediments in order to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and velocity of the Scrum Team.  

The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating Agile Events (Daily Scrum/Standup, Planning, Refinement, Retrospectives) and managing the Jira backlog for technical and functional teams. 

The Senior Scrum Master may participate in Technical Designs and Reviews for projects and application support. The role may also lead technical and functional teams.  The role will coordinate all aspects of requests for application testing support which may include test data mining. 

The Senior Scrum Master works with the Scrum Team, Product Owner, and both internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making and support organizational project or product teams.  The role may also be responsible for assisting the product owner in managing annual portfolio planning and roadmapping for assigned Platform.  The role will also assist the Product Owner in managing and prioritizing ad hoc requests from Business Partners and other technical teams.  

Position Responsibilities:
Project Execution

Responsible as part of the Scrum Team for on-time delivery and execution of critical Technology projects and initiatives to deliver business value. Works with core project team (such as the Product Owner, Stakehodlers and the Development Team) to develop detailed, actionable project schedules. Ensure work items are addressed by appropriate team members or partner teams and develops detailed and accurate work schedules, project estimates, and resource plans. Executes, monitors and controls technical projects from original concept through final implementation. Communicates accurate and timely project accomplishments and overall project health to stakeholders via required measures and methods (such as status reports, metrics, checkpoints, portfolio reports, and scorecards). Manages and monitors project budgets with high focus on approved technical funding and technical cost containment. Ensures cost changes have accurate and timely approvals and follow corporate and department standards, policies and procedures. Supports technical team, and tracks and reviews deliverables. Ensures support areas are engaged to drive effective training and turnover of technical solutions.

Resource Planning

Ensures appropriate staffing of technical projects through initial resource planning and ongoing accurate labor forecasting. Ensures the appropriate partner teams (i.e. Shared Services) are engaged at the proper time for the required work engagements over the life of the project. Ensures accurate and timely resource time allocations are inputted to assigned projects. Coordinates contingent labor procurement/selection as required for assigned projects.

Risk Management

Ensures adherence to all government, corporate and department standards, policies and procedures in all technical artifacts, tasks and decisions across the technical team. Works to ensure all artifacts adhere to all standards, policies and procedures. Proactively manages project risks and develops and manages risk mitigation plans in coordination with the project team.  

 

Qualifications

Position Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree 6 years of Technology experience 10 years of Project Management experience including managing medium sized projects with cross functional teams 6 years of experience with project management and resource planning tools building and executing actionable plans 6 years of experience with Microsoft Office tools. 6 years of experience in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Scales Scrum, etc.)

 

Position Preferred Qualifications

CSM certification or equivalent 6 years of experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) Content Management System 6 years of experience working with Salesforce CRM (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Financial Services Cloud) 6 years of experience working with Salesforce Marketing Cloud
