·         Understand the Scope of work applicable for new customer environment being supported by Wipro Solutions team

·         Responsible for Transitioning of cloud hosted customer environment.

·         Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility

·         Ensure to meet infra resources availability as per agreed SLA.

·         Capable of working on multiple projects as an IC / TL or Advisor as required.

·         Supports multiple databases of high complexity (complexity defined by database size, technology used, HA / DR features, and system feeds and interfaces) with multiple concurrent users, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data.

·         Participates in cross-team and cross-project implementations.

·         Physical Instance / Database design (Files distribution, Tablespace sizing, Resource allocation) and implementation.

·         Assists the system engineer in the design of highly available and redundant storage area networks.

·         Designs, monitors and maintains data replication primary and secondary databases.

·         Develops, tests, maintains, and exercises procedures for backup, restoration, and disaster recovery for high availability, high volume mission critical databases.

·         Design and implement required security access controls are designed around data and databases.

·         Develop and maintain enterprise data documentation (SMTD, SOW, Domain Standardization).

·         Forecasts utilization patterns and recommends modifications or upgrades.

·         Leadership in handling technical issues and escalations. Collaborate and drive for timely resolution on MIs and P1s followed by RCA and completion of corrective/preventive actions.

·         Review High Level Design, Low Level design and Acceptance test plans of inflight projects

·         Thorough understanding of customer landscape and explore opportunities for CR.

·         Assists in establishing and supporting enterprise policies, processes, and standards.

·         Develops, Monitors performance against agreed SLAs and ensures OLAs are met with internal/external clients.

·         Conduct periodic skill assessments and provide performance feedback to managers.

·         Evaluates future technologies and makes recommendations for software and hardware upgrades and technology solutions.

·         Consultation on DB License management.

·         Implement service improvement program.

·         Explore and implement automation bots for delivery team

·         Be responsible for tower specific stay green matrices.

·         Perform Trend analysis, identify top contributors and work with respective teams / individual to eliminate repeated incidents

·         Work with Project Managers on resourcing and drive On-boarding process.

 

Technical Skills (Core & Top-Up)

 

Must have

 

Primary Skill: Database Administration.

·         Expertise in troubleshooting Installation and Database administration tasks escalated by L3 DBAs.

·         Advanced troubleshooting skills on various HA solutions.

·         Through understanding and usage of Extended Events, Data Collector and Resource Governor

·         In-depth understanding of Perfmon Counters, SQL Profiler events and baseline parameters.

·         Hands-on experience on SQLDiag, PSSDIAG, PAL and Nexus tools to identify possible performance root causes.

·         Expert in analyzing Query Execution plans and query tuning.

·         Expertise in SQL Server migration (including cross platform) and up-gradation.

·         Assess the DR strategy and ensure successful DR activities.

·         Hands-on experience in Azure PAAS, IAAS

·         Design, setup and configure load balancing on clusters

·         SQL EM Metric design and configuration

·         Develop database re-usable components

·         Develop data purging, archival management methods and best practices

·         Configure, implement and troubleshoot DTS, SSIS and SSRS packages

·         Coordinate and work with database vendors for resolution on major incidents

·         SLA tracking and reporting to higher management.

·         Powershell /DB scripting and automate routine tasks

·         Experience windows administration on database activities

·         Automation through scripting.

·         Audit / approve Change requests.

 

Secondary Skills

·         Handle database estate of various technologies (Sybase, Oracle, MySQL and UDB DB2)

·         Knowledge on another Open Source DB

·         Proficiency in any one Unix flavor (AIX 5, 6, 7 / Solaris 8, 9, 10, 11) / HPUX 11x, 12x).

·         Hands-on experience on secondary DB skills (Sybase, MySQL, DB2)

·         Certification on any Secondary DB technology
