The Automation Architect is responsible for governing and guiding utilization of automated testing tools for automated testing and regression testing in all possible projects and systems with respect to. This position works closely with APS QA Manager and, project teams, application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure engineers through all stages of the software development process to ensure that all systems meet organization standards and end-user requirements. The Automation Test Lead works on the most complex systems and problems as well as providing Training, assistance, guidance and mentoring to the QA team.

Research additional opportunities to utilize automation during the testing cycle to reduce cost and time spent manually testing cases that are redundant and have no changes that will cause the test to fail unexpectedly.

Manage all aspects of the automated testing efforts.

Scheduling appropriate resources to execute automation efforts.

Ensures that Test Matrix maps to the appropriate test cases from automated efforts.

Manages onshore/offshore team during all phases of automated testing efforts.

Ensures teams follow the organization’s established policies and procedures.

Provides management reports on automated testing progress.

Pre-and-Post production support utilizing automated testing efforts.

Schedules Maintenance mode where additional tests get added to automated testing efforts.

Assures the defects found during automation execution are captured in defect tracking tool.

Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope/delivery dates.

Participates product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.

Provide sign-off once automated testing is complete.

Conducts feasibility studies to identify what can be automated, tools needed and ROI.

Adhere to established standards and procedures, including configuration management, coding, testing and documentation standards.

Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications / Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

Around 7+ years of successful experience with working in high capability organizations in testing (manual and automation) roles.

7+ years information systems management experience, including management of staff and projects.

4+ year experience of hands on automated testing scripts/coding, including sign-off of final testing.

Experience in Leading a small/medium size team

Experience in Technical Project Management and Tracking

Experience using Source Code Control Tools (TFS, SVN)

Strong Analytical skills

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with high degree of flexibility and ability to adapt to change in direction

Write excellent automation code (vbscript/C#/Java/PHP/Ruby etc.)

Provide technical and functional support throughout the project lifecycle, including gathering business requirements, developing functional specification documents, developing Test requirements, strategy, scope and priorities

Deep Experience working with UFT tool in particular and other automated testing tools in general

Strong analytical skills and focus on adding value to company.

Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors.

Ability to interpret, evaluate and communicate detailed information.

Strong attention to detail and data analysis skills

Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Strong motivational, coaching, and teaching skills.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Continuously Improve Test Automation Framework.

Perform analysis/review the test cases and identify/prioritize the ones which can be automated/which cannot be automated based on the business need.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing is required.

Having been on-site in USA would be an added bonus.

Additional

Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, information systems, engineering
