Job Description: Technical Project Manager
- Project Scope and Planning: using approved methods and SDLC, is responsible for the planning, documentation and execution of all phases of the project lifecycle; may lead and implement one or more of the following methods or functions: scope management, cost management, resource management, requirements management, work breakdown schedule and timeline management, priority and dependency management, project integration planning, vendor management using RFP, roles responsibilities; will work with the business to create project objectives that reflect the executive level vision and charter; leading and facilitating meetings.
- Project Control and Monitoring: Developing detailed work breakdown schedule, project estimate, and resource plan that support scope and risk management; conducting and facilitating effective project meetings, including issue tracking, status reports, and executive communications; implementing a Chang, Quality and Performance Management processes to control scope and monitoring project progress; ensuring problems are effectively escalated and crisis management activated, as needed
- Customer Focus and Partnerships: Advocate for the business, by providing first class service through the expert development of the Project Management discipline; lending subject matter expertise and knowledge management to the project team and stakeholders; supporting and taking pride in the assurance of total customer benefit and satisfaction for the product delivery
- Quality Management (QA Test): Effectively implementing a Quality Management process that supports qualified Test Planning, QA, CAT, and User Acceptance Testing; ensuring User Training is planned and effectively executed
- Mentoring and Coaching: Champion of change, process, and best practices to both the business and technical team members, providing training, leadership and coaching for the Project Management discipline; leading the project team for large development efforts; lending both functional and technical system-specific knowledge throughout the project lifecycle
- Perform other duties as assigned to successfully promote the Circle of Excellence for the Project Management Discipline, and the overall project and department success
Job Requirements:
- Strong Technical Project Management experience in the Health Insurance Industry
- Tactical working knowledge of SAFE Agile methodologies
- Strong understanding of current infrastructure concepts with the proven ability to implement Servers, VMware, SANs, networks, Data Centers and Monitoring in a fast paced, high availability, ITIL environment
- Coordinating cross-functional teams - Infrastructure, apps development, QA, performance release teams, along with various IT groups for UAT
- Experience delivering highly cross-functional programs that cross multiple business capabilities / systems
- Exceptional verbal, written, and presenting skills
- Strong understanding of current security protection, monitoring and remediation techniques with the proven ability to implement solutions for the network, servers, databases and the desktop
- Understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity and high availability concepts from planning to testing
- Must be able to work the PST (California) hours
