JOB DETAIL

  • Serving as the Scrum Master related to the services rendered under this Scope of Work; 
  • Facilitating Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, daily Scrum, sprint review, and sprint retrospective), and other meetings including, but not limited to, stakeholder meetings, and meetings for purposes of  refinement and removing impediments as needed; 
  • Coaching the team on Agile/Scrum practices and ensuring correct use of Scrum processes; 
  • Training the team to self‐manage and self‐organize; 
  • Ensuring the team works closely with product owner on backlog refinement for backlog priority; 
  • Resolving impediments in a timely manner; 
  • Resolving team conflicts and shielding the team from distractions; 
  • Identifying cross–team dependencies; 
  • Coordinating and assisting the team to create clear and concise epics/stories and sizing/tasking; 
  • Monitoring, tracking, and communicating team velocity and sprint/release progress; 
  • Assessing the Scrum Maturity of the team and organization; 
  • Coaching the team to higher levels of Scrum Maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and in line with IT Department goals; 
  • Facilitating discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution; 
  • Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and disseminating information to ensure that the team’s progress and successes are highly visible to all stakeholders; 
  • Supporting and educating the Product Owners, especially with respect to refining and managing the product backlog; 
  • Managing Scrum task board for the team; 
  • Managing Scrum artifacts, including burndown and burnup charts; 
  • Ensuring story points are effectively managed and measured; and 
  • Attending Agile planning sessions with Agile program teams and assisting delivery team with estimating and accepting stories. 
  • Scrum refers to the proprietary term for an Agile project management methodology in the progress and completion of IT projects where there are well‐defined requirements and goals. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience; 
  • A minimum of three (3) years of project support/management experience; 
  • First level Scrum Master Certification such as Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM); 
  • A minimum of one (1) year of Scrum Master experience and an in‐depth knowledge of Scrum principles, and experience with implementation of Agile Methodologies to multiple teams in large‐scale enterprise change projects and programs for a software development team; 
  • Strong servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and transparency skills; 
  • Knowledge of documented patterns and techniques such as Burndown Team Foundation Server (TFS), and retrospective formats for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach; 
  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co‐located vs. distributed, etc.); 
  • Working experience in at least one (1) of the following Agile methods or frameworks: Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), Kanban, Agile scaling methodologies (e.g. SAFe); 
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space such as: Crystal, Functional Design Diagram (FDD), etc.; 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the technologies used by the team; 
  • Effective oral and written communication  skills; 
  • Experience with mentoring; and 
  • Knowledge of TFS use as a tracking tool.
