Advanced SQL skills (ability to dig thru complex SQL code)

Experience building out an enterprise data warehouse/data lake

Strong ETL/Informatica skills – even on-prem PowerCenter counts

Some Python - must

Cloud – must AWS sets them apart

Proven experience leading an large effort or architecture direction – must

Some exposure to mentoring junior team members – must (We have a plan to bring in several junior DE’s next year – this role will play a key part in helping us mentor and teach)

Guidewire exposure or certs a big plus

Leadership exposure or interest

Experience to include:

5 years with: data integration and development; SQL relational databases; Data warehousing projects; ETL tools; and Informatica.

4 years with: Python; AWS services; RedShift or Snowflake; using SQS and SNS orchestrate

Essential Functions:

Develops, tests, and maintains complex automated ETL pipeline architecture and infrastructure.

Research, extract, and analyze and reviews data and potential adjustments or modifications on systems and/or programs.

Develops complex data objects for business analytics using data modelling techniques.

Develops and optimizes data warehouse and landing zone tables using data definition language, physical and logical tables, data partitioning, and compression and parallelization.

Develops and maintains data warehouse and landing zone, data catalog, and user documentation.

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus 8 years of progressive experience as a Senior Data Engineer, Data Engineer III, ETL Developer, or similar duties under a different job title.
